The background check applies to ammunition purchases
New York State requires licensed firearm dealers and registered ammunition sellers to contact the New York State Police for a background check before transferring ammunition to a purchaser. This applies when you buy ammunition at the store and when an online ammunition order is shipped to a New York ammunition seller for pickup.

Online ammunition purchases are convenient, but New York requires the transaction to be completed through the applicable ammunition-seller process. Ikkin Arms can receive your shipment and complete the required background-check and transfer process when you pick it up.

We Receive the Order
We receive the ammunition and process the shipment information, including the individual barcoded boxes that must be transferred.
Background Check & Pickup
Come to Ikkin Arms to complete the required New York ammunition background check. The ammunition can be released after the transaction is approved and completed.

The same background-check requirement applies at the counter
A background check is not only for internet orders. When ammunition is purchased in person from a New York dealer or ammunition seller, the purchaser must also complete the required ammunition background check before the ammunition is transferred.
Bring appropriate identification and allow time for the state background-check process. Approval timing is controlled by the state system, not by Ikkin Arms.
