Frequently Asked Questions

 Ikkin Dip It:
Ikkin Dip It specializes in applying a decorative print or pattern of automotive quality appearance to 3-dimensional substrates in order to enhance and create value. Client's substrates will be handled by highly skilled, trained and certified technicians.

Durability:
Hydrographic printing is very durable because it is the same process and clear coats used by major manufacturing firms in the sporting goods and automotive industry. We use only the highest quality clear finishes in matte, and high gloss.

WHAT CAN BE PRINTED?

Most any 3-D shape of wood, metal, or plastic that can be submerged fully in water and will fit into our tanks can be dipped.

BILLING:
Do to the custom nature of our industry; there are items that allow for guaranteed up front standard pricing. However, all non-standard items and non-volume work is billed at $60 per hour plus material cost.

ESTIMATES:
For non-standard and non-volume work, customers will receive an email estimate for the approximate cost, amount of time and material required to complete a job. If email is unavailable we provide that information by telephone. This number is an estimate and is subject to change based on the number of special needs that may arise during the process. Ikkin Dip It will communicate with customers closely during this process.

PAYMENT METHODS:
Ikkin Dip It will collect payment for any service rendered before product is return shipped to customers. Credit cards by phone or money orders are accepted methods of payment. Customer is responsible for all shipping costs to and from the Ikkin's facility.

DISASSEMBLY OF ITEMS:
Yes. Before shipping your item(s) to us for hydrographic printing, you or a professional should break it down and clean it so it is ready for paint to avoid cleaning and disassembly fees. Please send in only the parts that are going to be dipped and printed.

FIREARM AND ARCHERY DISASSEMBLY:
All firearms including archery equipment must be disassembled prior to arrival at the Ikkin facility, unless other arrangements have been made. lf requested, we have a gunsmith service available. $100.00 includes disassembly and reassembly or most rifles. This service is not available for archery equipment. Please send in only the parts that are going to be dipped and printed.

WHAT NEEDS TO BE SHIPPED WITH THE PARTS?
All parts must be shipped with a completed and signed work order form. No work will be performed without a signature. Please click on the link for a printable version of the order form.

PROCESSING TIME:
Standard processing time for completion of jobs is 3 weeks from date which we receive your items. The nature of custom work at times requires less or more than 3 weeks to complete projects. (Expedite service is available—see below) Please refrain from inquiries relating to product status before this time period. We contact customers the day their project is complete to collect credit card payment before return shipping product. If pre-payment has been made, we will inform customers of completion when their product ships and provide a tracking number.

EXPEDITE SERVICE:
It is very rare that product can be turned in less than 1 week due to cure times relating to paint and our process. Requests for product short of our standard 3 weeks are subject to fees that will be determined on a per case basis.

SHIPPING METHODS:
Contact us to schedule shipping on your large parts such as atv bodies and motorcycles. Firearms and small parts may be shipped fed-ex or ups.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
Caring for your gun or bow after being decorated is very simple. NO LONGER WILL YOU NEED TO OIL THE OUTSIDE OF YOUR GUN AGAIN. All you will need to do is just wipe it down using a damp rag. You will still be required to clean and oil the inside of your gun.

Any product that will discolor or strip paint will have an effect on the decorated finish. Deet is the most common chemical that will discolor the finish which is found in insect repellants. Using these practices will ensure a long lasting finish.

IMPORTANT: YOUR NEW DECORATED GUN OR BOW MUST CURE FOR AT LEAST 30 DAYS BEFORE USE. THE FINISH NEEDS TIME TO HARDEN.

If the above is not followed the finish will fail. All materials we use are PPG Automotive Grade.

We believe that using the Automotive Grade products will give you the utmost protection against harsh bore solvents and gun degreasers.

The products that we use in our shop are: Remington Shotgun Cleaner (aerosol),  Gumout (carb & choke cleaner, aerosol), Birchwood Casey's Gun Scrubber (aerosol), PB Blaster (aerosol), Lube Job gun cleaner (aerosol), Shooters Choice Copper Remover. These products mentioned have not harmed the finish.

These products have no harm to our finish but we don't recommend you "Hosing" down the outside of your gun with these items listed above.
